Manage LinkedIn contacts with a clear next step
Keep notes, relationship context and your next step together in Opener. Its side panel brings that context alongside LinkedIn, so you can pick up where you left off.

When remembering who to contact is no longer enough
After a good conversation on LinkedIn, you usually promise to follow up. A week later, you may no longer remember what you discussed or when you meant to get back in touch.
With two or three people selling, there is another question: is a colleague already talking to this person? Opener keeps notes, progress and the next step with the contact, so you and your colleagues can pick it up again.
From a LinkedIn contact to your next step
- Open the profile. On LinkedIn, open the profile of the person you want to reach. The side panel shows whether your team knows them and who is handling the relationship.
- Record what happened. After the conversation, add a step or a note without switching to the app.
- Set a follow-up. Save the agreed next step as a follow-up, with or without a date.
- Pick it up again. Follow-ups with a date are listed in the app by due date. When you open the profile again, the context is right there.
Before reaching out, open Alex’s profile on LinkedIn. For a shared contact you can access, the side panel shows who is handling the relationship and what has happened so far. After your conversation, add your own note and a follow-up date. Next time you open the profile, the context helps you decide how to continue.

Keep relationship context alongside LinkedIn
The Opener side panel is a Chrome extension. On a profile, it shows who on your team is handling the contact, the stage, the last step and your follow-up. If your workspace allows writing from the side panel and you have write access, you can add a note, a step or a follow-up straight from LinkedIn.
The side panel is a working view of one person. The full picture, including your action plan, follow-ups and your team’s work, is in the app. A workspace admin turns the side panel on.
How to use it: Using the side panel on LinkedIn.
Give your team the context to follow up
On a shared contact, you can see who is handling the relationship and what your team has done so far. Add your own note and follow-up when you have permission to write. Private contacts stay private; the help centre explains who can see what.
Everyone has their own follow-up on a contact; you see your colleagues’ follow-ups as read-only.
Details: Who can see what in a workspace.
What the side panel reads and what you do yourself
The side panel only reads pages you open yourself. In a conversation, it only picks up the link to the other person’s profile; it does not read message text.
- It does not send messages or connection requests. It only prepares the invitation text; you send it yourself.
- It does not click anything on LinkedIn or move between pages on its own.
- It only records what you confirm.

Common questions
Does Opener send LinkedIn messages or connection requests for me?
No. The side panel does not send messages or connection requests. It helps you work with context and record your own steps; you handle communication on LinkedIn yourself.
Can teammates see my private contacts?
No. Private contacts remain private to you. Shared contacts and work on them follow your workspace’s visibility rules; see the help centre for details.
