What it is for

In the chat with support you ask the Opener team when you are not sure how to do something or something does not work. A person from support replies and you find the reply in the same place.

How to

  1. In the left bar at the bottom, click Help and support.
  2. In the panel, switch to the Chat with support tab.
  3. Write your message. Enter sends it, Shift+Enter adds a new line.
  4. If a screenshot helps, add an image with the Add image button, by dragging it into the chat or by pasting it with ⌘V (Ctrl+V).
  5. The reply from support appears in the chat. When the panel is closed, a dot appears next to the Help and support button when a new message arrives.

Good to know

  • Reply time: above the chat you see within how many hours on working days we usually reply.
  • Language: write in your own language. We translate messages; a translated message has the note Translated and a link to the original.
  • Support can write first, for example when it fixes a bug you reported. Above the first message of such a thread you see Support wrote to you. You reply the same way as in any other thread.
  • New message from support: the dot next to the Help and support button stays until you read the message, and the panel then opens directly on the chat.
  • Images: PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF, at most 5 images of up to 10 MB each. Location data and other image metadata are removed before saving.
  • Closed conversation: when support closes a conversation, your next message starts a new one.
  • Who reads the messages: only the Opener support team. Your colleagues in the space and its admin do not see them.
  • How long they are kept: a closed conversation is kept for 24 months, then it is deleted including images.

Frequently asked questions

When should I use the chat and when Feedback?

The chat is for questions and problems you want an answer to. A suggestion for improvement that needs no answer goes to the Feedback section.

Will I find out that a reported bug is fixed?

Yes, if support confirms it after the fix. It writes to you in the chat and a dot appears next to the Help and support button.

Do my colleagues see my conversation?

No. The conversation belongs to you and the support team, even when it concerns a shared space.
