What it is for

Opener keeps in one place the people you reach out to, what you have done with them and what should come next. You work in it on your own and with colleagues in one team space.

How to

Everyday work has five steps:

  1. You add people. With the side panel for Chrome directly from a LinkedIn profile, from New contacts or by import.
  2. You record steps. Each step moves the relationship into one of five phases, from Looked up to Working together.
  3. You agree on the next step. A follow-up with a due date reminds you whom to get back to, and a task assigns work to a colleague or to yourself. Cadence makes sure you do not let important relationships go cold.
  4. You plan. My action plan is a batch of contacts with goals and a due date.
  5. You follow the team. Team shows the progress and activity of the whole team.

Opener never sends or clicks anything on LinkedIn by itself. It records what you have done.

Good to know

The left sidebar of the app has these groups:

  • My work: My action plan, Follow-ups, Messages.
  • Team & contacts: Team, People & relationships, Lists, Deals, New contacts.
  • Companies: Companies, Company coverage.
  • Tools: Labels, Templates.

At the bottom you will find Feedback for suggestions and bugs, Help and support with the support chat, Space admin for admins, and your name card, which opens My settings. At the top there is the Search field (shortcut ⌘K) and Ask AI.

On the right of the top bar of each page you see today's day and date; in Czech also whose name day it is today and tomorrow. On a narrow screen they are hidden.

A contact or company detail opens in a panel next to the list, so the list always stays in view. Text you are writing in a note or follow-up is saved as you go.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to use the side panel for Chrome?

No, you can also record steps in the app. With the side panel, however, you record a step directly on the profile, without switching. The logo at the top left controls the side panel: until the side panel is installed, it shows a + and leads to the installation; once connected, it opens and closes the side panel.

Do my colleagues see everything I record?

Yes, contacts and the work with them are shared by the whole space. Details are in the article Who sees what in a space.

Where do I change the language or appearance?

In My settings, your name card at the bottom left.

Where do I see when the trial ends?

Admins in Space admin, tab Plan. Other members in My settings, tab Profile. Details are in the article Plan, beta and trial.
