Company details: company ID, registered office, revenue and company contacts

Where the company detail shows the company ID, VAT ID, registered office, revenue, description and company phones, where the details come from, and how to add them from Merk with the side panel and verify them in ARES.

What it is for

A company in Opener can have official and business details: company ID (IČO), VAT ID, legal form, registered office, date founded, data box, revenue and profit, description, activities, and company phones and emails. For each detail you see where it comes from and when it was saved.

How to

Manually in the app

  1. Open the company in Companies.
  2. In the Company details section, click the pencil (Edit company details), fill in or correct the details and save. A cleared field is deleted together with its source.
  3. In the Company contacts section, add a company phone or email with the + button, with a short note such as "reception". You remove a contact with the cross next to it.

From Merk with the side panel

  1. In Merk, open the company page (the address `app.saleskit.com/merk/…/detail/cz-…` ends with the company ID, for Slovak companies `sk-…`).
  2. Click the Opener Team icon in the browser toolbar. The side panel reads the details from the open page and shows them.
  3. If the company is already in Opener (by company ID, otherwise by website), the side panel offers Add details. Empty details are preselected. A filled-in detail with a different value shows what it replaces, and it is replaced only if you tick it. You can untick phones and emails one by one.
  4. If the company is not in Opener, the side panel offers Create company with the selected details, or adding them to a company with a similar name.

People from Merk

Below the company card, the side panel shows People from the company in Merk: employees (name, role, LinkedIn) and statutory officers (position, titles, salutation) from the open page, split into new, waiting in New contacts, already in Opener and colleagues. Send to New contacts sends them (at most 100 at a time), Add to list adds those who are already in Opener. You see more employees when you open Show all or the next page in Merk yourself; the side panel opens nothing. In Merk, the email and phone are behind buttons, and the side panel reads them only if you reveal them yourself. More in New contacts.

Verifying in ARES

For a Czech company with a company ID, the Company details section has a Verify in ARES button. ARES is the public register of Czech companies. It fills in empty details (name, registered office, VAT ID, legal form, date founded), marks matching ones as verified and only shows differences. You take the ARES value for a particular detail with Use ARES value.

Where the details come from

Below each detail there is a small source and date: Merk, ARES, Manually, Company website or Import. A detail confirmed by ARES also shows "verified in ARES". Details from the company website have their own section, see Company details from its website.

The company ID prevents duplicates

Only one company in a space can have a given company ID. On a Merk page, the side panel looks for the company first by company ID, then by website, and finally only suggests a company with a similar name. If another company already has the company ID, it is not saved to the second one.

In Companies

In the Companies list, below the list toolbar, the Columns: row turns on the Company ID, City, Employees and Revenue columns. Your browser remembers the choice. Search also finds a company by its full company ID.

Who sees and edits the details

A company is shared by the whole space. Every member of the space sees its details and contacts, and anyone with write access can edit them.

What the side panel reads in Merk

Only the open company page and only after you click the side panel icon: the header with the company ID, key figures, description, activities and the company contact details. It offers to send people from the Employees and Statutory bodies sections to New contacts (see below). It does not read owners, age or bank accounts. It does not scroll and does not open other Merk pages. Merk sometimes shows phones and emails only after you scroll down to the contact details; then click Read again in the side panel.

Frequently asked questions

Will the side panel overwrite details I entered manually?

Only if you tick replacing that detail yourself. Otherwise it fills in only empty details.

Why don't I see Verify in ARES?

The company has no company ID, has a country other than Czechia, or you have read-only access. Slovak companies cannot be verified yet.

How many times a day can I verify in ARES?

At most 100 times a day for the whole space, so that Opener follows the ARES terms of operation.
