My action plan: batch, goals, due date, closing
How to start your own or a team action plan, work through a batch of contacts, track progress and close the plan.
What it is for
An action plan is a batch of contacts with whom you want to complete certain steps by a due date. My action plan is the default section of the app and shows your batch, your progress and the contacts outside the plan.
How to
Start your own plan
- In My action plan, click Start plan.
- Enter the Due date (14 days from now by default) and the Goals, that is the phases you want to record with the contacts (by default Looked up and Invited).
- Tick the contacts In batch, or filter them and choose Add selection to batch.
- Confirm with Start plan.
Work with the batch
- Continue the batch opens the next contact in the batch, Next from the plan in the detail moves you to the next one. Contacts with an action recorded today or that have already met the goals are skipped.
- Opener remembers where you left off, also in the side panel on LinkedIn and on another computer.
- The plan status at the top (Plan until the due date, completed out of total, days remaining) opens Plan details with the actions Edit batch and Close plan.
Team plan
A team plan is started by an admin in the Team section with the Start team plan button. The admin selects at least two members and distributes the batches among them manually or with the Suggest distribution button based on the number per member.
Plan from a list
- When starting a plan, choose one of your lists or a team list in the List field. The offered contacts narrow down to the people in the list, for a company list to the people at those companies.
- Directly from the list detail: Use and Start own plan, an admin also Start team plan. The list is then preselected.
- The rest works as before: filters, manual assignment and the suggested distribution by rotation do not change.
The window tells you how many people from the list are offered. Missing are those without an open shared relationship the plan may take, or who are in the batch of another plan. Private contacts cannot go into a plan, the window tells you how many were left out. The assignment stays even if you change the list while selecting.
Good to know
- Progress: each contact in the batch counts as many times as there are goals. A goal step is done when the contact has reached at least that phase since being added to the batch, no matter who recorded the step. Moving beyond the highest goal counts as a bonus.
- The colour of the bar warns you when progress is behind the time remaining until the due date. After the due date the plan keeps running until you close it.
- A member is in at most one running plan. A member of a team plan cannot start their own. At most one team plan runs in a space.
- A batch has at most 1000 contacts, and a contact is in at most one running batch.
- A colleague's contact in your batch is one you process for the owner (label For owner:). The owner does not change.
- Outside the plan are your contacts outside the batch. They do not count towards progress.
- Closing: the contacts return to their owners, and the result of the plan stays in the Team section under Closed plans. Your follow-ups remain.
- Only the person who started their own plan can close and edit it. A team plan is managed by an admin.
- Rotation: an admin sets the Pass limit and Pause in Space settings, section Rotation. These rules apply only to the suggested distribution of a team plan.
