Deleting a company and undoing it
How to delete a company from its detail or in bulk in the Companies list, who may delete, what is deleted and what stays, and how to undo a deletion within 30 days.
What it is for
You can delete a company that was created by mistake or as a test. People from the company stay in Opener with their relationships, phases and history, just without the company. A deletion can be undone for 30 days.
How to
One company
- Open the company in Companies.
- In the detail header, click ⋯ and choose Delete company.
- The dialog shows how many people will be unlinked from the company and what will be deleted. Confirm with Delete company.
- A notice with an Undo button appears below the list bar.
Several companies at once
- In the Companies list, tick the companies, at most 100.
- In the selection bar, click Delete.
- The dialog shows the counts for all selected companies and how many will be skipped. Confirm.
- The notice says how many companies were deleted and how many were skipped. Undo restores the whole batch in one step.
Undoing later
When companies have been deleted in the space in the last 30 days, the Companies list bar shows a Recently deleted button with a count (next to Possible duplicates). It opens a list of these companies with an Undo button for each.
Good to know
Who may delete
- An empty company can be deleted by anyone who may write in the space. Empty means no people, follow-ups, deals, tasks or documents. Labels, lists and web details do not count.
- A company with people or data can only be deleted by a space admin or owner. Opener also counts what you cannot see (for example a task between colleagues). The dialog then only says Only a space admin can delete this company..
- A company in calling (in a queue, with calls or meetings by callers) cannot be deleted by anyone.
- A read-only member cannot delete. The side panel and MCP connections do not delete companies.

The counts in the dialog only include what you can see. Company coverage is recalculated automatically after the deletion.
Undo
- The person who deleted the company and a space admin or owner can undo it within 30 days.
- Undo restores the company with everything that was deleted and links it back to its people, deals and tasks.
- Anything that can no longer be restored is skipped and the app says how many. For example a person deleted in the meantime, a deal someone moved to another company, or a label that no longer exists. If a company with the same LinkedIn page was created in the meantime, the restored company comes back without it.
Frequently asked questions
Are the people deleted with the company?
No. People, their relationships and history stay. Only the link to the company is removed, so the person then has no company.
Why can't I delete the company?
The company has people or data, and only a space admin may remove those. Or the company is in calling, in which case nobody can delete it. Instead of deleting a duplicate company, you can merge it (⋯ and Merge with…).
What does the side panel do after a company is deleted?
It no longer finds the company on its page and offers to create a new one.
