Invite to Opener
How to invite anyone to create their own new space in Opener with a trial.
What it is for
When you know someone Opener can help, send them an invitation. The invitee creates their own new space with a free trial. This does not give them access to your space, and they see nothing from it.
How to
You create the invitation in My settings, tab Invite to Opener. Open My settings by clicking your card at the bottom left.
- Enter the email of the person you are inviting. The note is only for you, the invitee does not see it.
- Keep Send the invitation by email on if Opener should send the invitation. The email shows your name and email, so the invitee knows who it is from. If you turn it off, send the link yourself.
- Click Create invitation. The link appears below the form, copy it with Copy link.
- The invitee opens the link, signs in with a Google account for this email or with a code sent by email, and the space is created right away.
Your invitations are in the list My invitations with the status Pending, Used, Expired or Revoked. A pending invitation has the Copy link button and, in the More actions menu, Send again by email and Revoke.
Good to know
- Any member of a space can invite, not only admins.
- An invitation is valid for 14 days and belongs to one email. It cannot be used with another account.
- The new space gets a free 14-day trial. After that, its owner chooses a plan.
- You can have at most 5 pending invitations at a time. Used invitations do not count. If you need more, write to us in the support chat.
- Only one invitation to Opener can be pending for an email. You cannot invite yourself.
- You only see the status of the invitation. The invitee sees nothing from your space, and you see nothing from theirs.
- When a space you invited starts paying, this tab shows the Become a partner offer. I am interested opens the support chat so we can arrange the details.
Frequently asked questions
I want to invite a colleague to my space.
That is a different invitation. A space admin invites colleagues in the Members tab, see Inviting colleagues to your space.
The invitee says the invitation cannot be used.
The invitation has expired, was revoked or already used, or the invitee signed in with a different email. Create a new invitation and check the email.
The invitee already has an Opener account.
The invitation still works. After accepting it, they also have their own new space and switch between spaces in the space menu.
